Here are some frequently asked questions to help you plan for your newborn session:
I recommend reaching out to book your newborn session around the start of your second trimester. It helps ensure a spot around your due date, but please don’t worry if you’re getting in touch later – even if your baby is already here. Life moves fast, and I’ll always do my best to fit you in.
I only take on a small number of newborn sessions each month so that every family has flexibility and a relaxed, personal experience.
The sweetest time for newborn photos is within the first few weeks – usually between 5 and 15 days old. During this stage, babies are still sleepy, snuggly, and love being curled up, making it the perfect time to capture those soft, peaceful moments you’ll cherish forever.
No worries at all! I only take on a limited number of newborn sessions each month so there’s flexibility for when your little one decides to make their arrival – since babies rarely follow the calendar. Once your baby is here, just send me a quick message, and we’ll choose a time that feels perfect for you both.
Most sessions typically last 2-3 hours when baby is content and sleepy, but every little one has their own rhythm – and that’s perfectly okay. I always follow baby’s cues and make sure they stay comfortable and safe. We’ll take breaks whenever needed for nursing, feeding, or just a little cuddle time.
Parents and siblings are always welcome to be part of a newborn session – in fact, I truly encourage it. Capturing the love and connection between your baby and the rest of the family makes these images even more meaningful.
Most sessions focus on the bond between baby, parents, and siblings – those tender, intimate moments that define your new chapter together. While extended family members or friends are of course very special, including them can shift the focus away from those quiet, early days as a new family unit.
Once we’ve confirmed your spot, a small deposit will be required to officially secure your booking. After receiving the deposit, I’ll send you my “Newborn Session Welcome Guide”, filled with helpful details on what to bring, how to prepare for a smooth and relaxed session, and of course, my studio address. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session.
